Addendum to siding article

Yes there is no doubt according to, cost vs value, over the last 5 years upscale siding, to the surprise of MANY, has returned in terms of resale the highest percentage in reference to the mid atlantic region (even my wife did not believe me until she saw it on a home show.) Furthermore, I would counter the argument for fibercement. Although it looks good in the beginning you have to maintain it similarly to wood, paint it, it is the most expensive, UV fade, doesnt add enough R value and causes cancer causing silica dust when you cut into it. I think we will also see some analogies to asbestos and its long term health effects over time.

I would recommend a superpolymer "siding system," with thermal fullback insulation behind it. It eliminates half of the siding issues i.e, (waving, buckling, seams opening, impact damage, termites, fire retardant and the list goes
on and on) the thermal fullback insulation is the only material on a "siding system," that will give you an R 5 and is the only part of a "siding system," that is and has been eligble for federal tax credits over the last few years.

There is a lot you can do to bring your homes value up we had we had a Dallas insulation come in to seal our basement attic and other rooms so that our AC wasn't going to be on as often as it was and were seeing savings already on our power bill each month.
